Conservatory Roofing

Our Conservatory Roofing Services

Timber roofs for conservatories and single-storey extensions

Create a room that you can use all year round. The right roofing can turn your conservatory from a summer space to a year-round extension for your home.

Whether you already have a conservatory in place and are looking to upgrade to a better-insulated, more durable roofing option, or whether you are planning your conservatory build from scratch, Iceni Roofing recommends an Icotherm roof.

Four examples of Icoroof conservatory roofs from Iceni Roofing: the Icoroof, Icoview, Ico600 and Icospan

Why Choose an Icotherm Roof?

Thermally Efficient

An Icotherm roof helps your conservatory to maintain an optimum temperature, protecting from the summer heat and retaining warmth in winter. These roofs reduce the need to turn on your heating, and they retain any warmth you generate with far better efficiency due to excellent insulation.

Building Control Compliant

The Icotherm system is compliant with all up to date building regulations. When you choose an Icotherm roof, you do so with the assurance that your room or conservatory will be building inspector-approved.

Speedy Installation

Prefabricated roof modules ensure speedy installation and minimum site disruption.

10 years Guarantee

Your installer receives a 10-year manufacturer warranty against manufacturing defects.

Versatile

Icotherm roofs can encompass any of the elements you may need this roof replacement to work around, or that you may be planning on your bespoke new build property. They can incorporate Velux® windows, panoramic glass panels, lanterns, low angles and much more. Get in touch to find out how this versatile solution can meet your needs.

Why Timber Roofing?

A conservatory roof solution built on a timber frame by Iceni Roofing.

At Iceni Roofing, we are big believers in timber. This renewable building material has been used for as long as people have been building structures, supporting roofs from simple huts to vast cathedrals. Unlike aluminium, which is highly conductive, it is naturally insulating, with a very low thermal conductivity of 0.16 W/m2k.

The completed Icotherm roof offers a U-value of 0.15W/m2k, with the option of 0.12 available for the Scottish and Welsh markets (even better than an insulated house cavity wall: 0.41w/m2k*).

Customise the Lighting in Your Room

A well-lit conservatory can easily become everyone’s favourite room of the house, rain or shine. Icotherm roofs support a range of window options: for example, the Icoroof is designed to integrate Velux® windows, whereas the Icoview design features full-length glass panels in sections of the roof, giving you a beautiful view of the sky and a freeing sense of indoor-outdoor flow.

Your conservatory roof can also be designed with LED ceiling lights. When combined with a traditional plaster finish, these will give your new conservatory a bright and fresh look and feel.

Your Questions Answered

Will I be able to use my room all year round?

The addition of an Icotherm roof can make your room up to 70% cooler in summer and 90% warmer in winter, so you will be able to comfortably use your room all year round. You will also be able to enjoy the benefits of reduced noise pollution, no solar glare, and extra privacy.

Is condensation a real issue?

The Icotherm roof is specifically designed to be ventilated. It also has a low U-value due to being built from timber, which has low thermal conductivity, and is approved in a low condensation risk analysis.

Do I need building control?

Icotherm roofs are fully compliant with building control regulations. It is recommended that you check with your local building office to determine whether or not consent is required. As a leading timber design system, the Icotherm Roof is already approved by building inspectors, thus simplifying the building certificate application process.

Will the roof be too heavy for my existing frames?

When compared to a glass roof, the Icotherm roof is only slightly heavier. In keeping with government guidelines, we will make sure that the existing structure shows no sign of distress and that the existing foundations are adequate to carry the additional weight. In addition, it is also important to check that existing windows and door frames are reinforced suitably.

How long will it take to complete the work?

Whilst no roof installation is the same, an average Icotherm roof upgrade is completed within 2-3 days.

The roof is secured and weather-tight on the same day in most cases.
